What inspired you to start yoga?
My journey into yoga began as part of my ongoing spiritual exploration.
After spending seven years as a stay-at-home mom, I realised that while I had made significant strides in my spiritual journey, there was still something missing: the physical aspect of yoga, specifically asana practice.
My body, having longed for movement, was craving a new form of expression and vitality. With that desire in mind, I decided to join a yoga class.
From the moment I stepped onto the mat for the first time, I felt an incredible sense of belonging, as if I had finally come home.
That initial experience was transformative; I left the studio feeling rejuvenated and at peace. Instantly hooked, I immersed myself in the practice, committing to yoga every day.
The physical movement complemented my spiritual pursuits beautifully, bringing balance and fulfilment to my life.
Since then, yoga has become an essential part of my daily routine, enriching my journey and helping me connect more deeply with myself.
What is your favorite yoga pose?
Undoubtedly, Hanumanasana, also known as the front split.
Why is Hanumanasana your favorite pose?
The journey to mastering this pose taught me invaluable lessons in discipline and consistency.
It took me six years of dedicated practice to achieve this, and throughout that time, I learned to truly believe in my body and its potential.
Hanumanasana symbolises not just physical flexibility but also mental resilience and commitment.
As I gradually approached this pose, I experienced profound personal growth.
It challenged me to cultivate patience and perseverance while reminding me of the importance of listening to my body.
Each small milestone along the way reinforced my confidence and deepened my connection with my practice.
This pose embodies the dedication I have invested in my yoga journey and serves as a beautiful reminder that with time and effort, I can overcome obstacles and achieve my goals.
Hanumanasana is more than just a pose for me; it represents my growth, both on and off the mat.
