My Freind Steve Avain

With the deepest sadness I need to inform you all of the passing of my friend and fellow Yogi Steve Avian. Steve was a huge part of my yoga journey and an inspiration to opening up the studio. Steve will be truly missed and wherever his consciousness and spirit is travelling I trust he will bring love and find peace .

Founder of the Shamayoga school. He is an internationally qualified (FRYOG- ICM) yoga teacher with over 30 years experience of yoga and has been teaching yoga for over 18 years. He has studied yoga in the UK, India, Europe and the USA. He is also a member of the Yoga Alliance and the Independent Yoga Network.

In 2005 I set up a Yoga Teacher Training School accredited to the Yoga Alliance that I have enjoyed immensely. So many amazing people have crossed my path and still do. My students teach me so much through the process of discovering what works for them. Essentially we are seeking the source together.

I think of yoga as an exploration, an invitation to play and to gain an experiential understanding of our potentials. We can put our discoveries to good use in the world. Yoga is of priceless value. It can offer one of the greatest means to surviving and thriving through these tumultuous times. Yoga can play a crucial role in the birthing of a new world, the vision of paradise deep within our hearts. May our journey begin anew.

Testimonials'

A comprehensive and professional course that has managed to capture a real personal feel to it. I am enjoying every moment! I think the course is suitable for a real range of people - our group consists of experienced teachers through to people that just wish to expand their knowledge and enjoyment of Yoga. Every weekend is like going on a retreat to recharge!' (Roberta Sutherland)'

The course that Steve runs is well organised with a good balance of academic and practical work. It also includes a teaching practice every other month, which for me is invaluable as I came to the course with no teaching experience at all. Steve is very supportive and eager to hear our views on different aspects of the course and its' guest lectures. So far I have found the course very enjoyable, I have already learnt so much more about yoga and it's practice.' (Jo Boltt)

'Enjoyable, fascinating, multi-dimensional! Steve, Olivia and the rest of the tutors have put together an excellent course, which covers all aspects of teaching yoga in a comprehensive, interesting and fun way. Our teaching practice is blossoming under Steve's caring and capable tutorage.' (Connie Chapman)
